Dos and Don’ts When Searching For A Foreign Fiance

by Art Saborio

Here are some really good rules that everyone should use before jumping into the K1 Fiance Visa process. The process can seem really simple. Jump online, choose a beautiful girl and get married. But I can tell you from experience it is not that simple. Even if you have already found someone and dating, these simple “Dos and Don’ts” will help you succeed.

Here is what you do not want to do.

1) Do not use a free dating website to find your fiance. 99% of these free websites are filled with fake women. Rarely will you find anyone real on these sites. Pictures are never real and you will find that most women will try to take money from you. If you are dating and talking to a woman from a free website, use caution. Give the relationship at least three months before moving to the next level. Send flowers to her home address. Have the agency take a picture of her to ensure you are talking to a real person. Most of the time the girl will disappear when she realizes you are getting too serious.

2) Don’t send money to anyone you have not met. If you are being asked for money, 99% of the time this person is not real. She did not need your money before you came along and she does not need it now. Just say “NO” to money requests. If she does not understand, then it is time to move on to someone new. She is not worth your time. Ignore the depressing sob story she may tell you. Stop communicating with her and move on to someone new.

3) Do not give out too much information about yourself. Identity theft is just as big of a business abroad as it is here. The more information you give out, the easier it is for her to steal your identity. Don’t give it out. She does not need to know how much money you make, how much is in your bank account, your address or anything of that nature. Meet her first before giving out information that could harm your life.

Here is what you should be doing.

1) Do ask her a lot of questions. Ask her about her life and family. What does she like to do? what are her goals and dreams? Does she want children? Find out as much as possible from her. She is going to be your possible fiance. The more you know the better off you will be when she finally gets to your country.

2) Meet you fiance more than once. I know the government only requires you to meet her once in a two year period, but you truly cannot get to know someone in just one meeting. Do yourself and your fiance a favor by meeting more than once. I recommend a minimum of three times or more.

3) Do save all your trip information as proof of your relationship. Also save phone call logs, emails and anything else you can save to show proof of the relationship.

Using these methods are the first steps to finding or dating a woman from a foreign country. It is also the first steps in the process of obtaining a K1 Fiance Visa.
