Same-Sex Couples Fight for the Right to Immigrate to the U.S.A

by Art Saborio

Same-Sex couples and immigration officials will join on the battlefield shortly as congress prepares to address this controversial issue. For anyone getting ready to submit their application for a K1 Visa, this change will not affect you. Yet for those that have been shut out of the process because of gender, this will greatly impact you.

Coming in front of congress is a bill that would allow same sex couples the right to immigrate to the U.S.A under the I-129 K1 Visa.

This has been an on-going issue for quite a few years and I have been asked time and again how to get around this immigration oversight. My recommendation has always been to try another avenue of visa. For example a work visa, that would allow a person to enter the country for a longer period of time than just a few months. In the past options were limited.

If this law passes it will open a lot of doors that were recently closed shut. More on this law at a later time… stay posted for updates to Same-Sex Couples Fight for the Right to Immigrate to the U.S.A
